Initial growth of Calendula officinalis L. plants treated with paclobutrazol

Calendula officinalis L. is largely used in composition beds and like cutted flowers. On the other hand, height (30 – 60 cm), difficult cultivate sales potted plant, owing to tipping of pots for disposition plants on tables. Paclobutrazol (PBZ) a vegetal regulator that reduces growth plants. The purpose this study was evaluate initial C. treated with PBZ. experiment conducted greenhouse Floriculture Sector, Agronomy Department, Universidade Federal de Viçosa October November 2020. complety randomized desing treatments were control, 2500, 5000, 7500 e 10000 ppm PBZ doses five repetitions. Two applications realized, being first 15 days second 30 after transplantation. Plant height, leaf area, stem length diameter, root length, leaves number photosynthetic pigments quantified. PBZ, regardless concentration, reduced plant heigth, diameter. Root photossyntetic did not significant among aplied. doses.
